FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After three weeks off from competition, SWOSU Cross Country resumed action at the 35th Annual Chile Pepper Festival.
The team was led by
Delaney Ferguson who finished first out of any SWOSU runner. It's her first time leading the team this season after
Isabel Sanchez had done so in both races prior. Ferguson finished 50th out of nearly 180 runners.
Next best finish came from
Payten Fite, followed by Sanchez just one second later. Fite's second-place team finish represents her best through three collegiate races after previous showings of fourth and sixth. A full team view of Bulldog finishes can be seen below.
Two races remain on the schedule for the Bulldogs. SWOSU gets right back to running next Saturday at the Old Glory Gallop in Texas, hosted by Dallas Baptist. From there, they'll rest up in preparation for the GAC Championships held in Russellville, Arkansas on October 21 this year.
