Softball Hosts Henderson State On Senior Weekend

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The SWOSU Softball team holds their last series of the season this weekend. Henderson State travels to Weatherford for a three-game series beginning Saturday with a 3:00 pm game one before ending Sunday with a noon doubleheader. Four seniors will be honored following the completion of Saturday's game. Meanwhile, SWOSU's annual Pack The Park event will be held on Sunday with a day of free food and giveaways.

Henderson State comes into the weekend 18-28 overall and 10-20 in the GAC. They are outside of the GAC Tournament picture, but trail East Central by one game entering the final three games of the season. The Reddies are still hoping to make it to the postseason, so SWOSU could get to spoil that chance. HSU holds a 27-14 all-time advantage against the Bulldogs, but these teams have split their last 16 games.

SWOSU dropped all three games to Arkansas-Monticello last weekend, including losing in walk-off fashion in the middle game of the series. The Dawgs are on a current six-game losing streak and hoping to break out of this slump to finish the year off strong.

Taryn Westbrook and Kaylee Barkley started games two and three against the Blossoms last weekend and pitched well. They only allowed seven total runs over the 12.2 combined innings they threw at UAM.
