WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The SWOSU Women's Golf team competed at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational and took home third for the second straight tournament. This was powered by four Lady Bulldogs finishing in the top ten.
SWOSU opened the final day in first place but couldn't secure the victory in the last round. Host Central Missouri won the event. Augustana (SD) finished in second, just one stroke ahead of SWOSU.
Megan Brown was on top of the leaderboard for SWOSU. She entered the final day as the stroke leader as well. Brown finished T6 (+16). Her first round score of 75 was tied for the second lowest round of the invitational.
Ashlyn Acosta and
Drew Dodgion were right behind Brown. They both finished T9 (+17) for the tournament. Dodgion ended with a 4.31 average on par 4 holes, the best of any player in the event.
Rebecca Lau was next at T11 (+18). She improved her score from 83 to 75 in the two rounds. Her second round score was tied with
Megan Brown for second lowest.
Faustina Pergolini rounded out the SWOSU competitors at T45 (+33).
The final tune up for the Lady Dawgs before the GAC Tournament will come on April 3-4 when they travel to Tucson, Arizona to compete in the Desert Invitational.
