Coach Maher Steps Down as SWOSU Softball Head Coach

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University Athletic Director Todd Helton has announced the resignation of head softball coach Kim Maher.

"I would like to thank Coach Maher for her commitment to the softball program over these past six years," Helton said. "We at SWOSU wish her the best in all of her future endeavors."

Maher was the Great American Conference Coach of the Year in 2019 after leading SWOSU to its first postseason berth since 2013. She has led the program since the 2017 season and just concluded her sixth year as head coach of the Dawgs. She has been a head coach for 14 years in total, with the first eight years of her career coming at Division I Purdue University from 2006-13.

"Due to family obligations, the time was right for me to retire from coaching and focus on those obligations," Maher said. "I want to thank the athletic department and the university for the opportunity to coach here over the past six years and wish nothing but success to the program for many years to come."

Further information related to the search concerning the new head softball coach is forthcoming.
