SHAWNEE, Okla. – The SWOSU Track & Field Team had two first-place finishes and set four new school records during the Oklahoma Baptist Invite, hosted on Friday-Saturday at the Hurt Memorial Track Complex in Shawnee.
Claiming top honors in their events were
Sabrina Hughbanks and
Annie Haught. Hughbanks finished atop the field in Javelin with a new school-record toss of 31.27 meters while Haught had claimed top honors in High Jump after clearing 1.52 meters.
Others with new school records included
Alexis Chao, who finished third in Pole Vault with a height of 3.40 meters,
Alize Farbes, who was second in Long Jump with a distance of 5.18 meters, and
Tajahae Jones, who took third in Hammer Throw with a throw of 44.59 meters. Jones also placed fourth in Shot Put.
This was the third spring meet for the Track & Field team and they have one remaining before the Great American Conference Championships on April 15-17. Next up for the Bulldogs is a trip to Wichita, Kan., to compete at Friends University on April 9-10.
