Softball Enters Final Weekend Looking Secure Postseason Berth

ADA, Okla. – SWOSU Softball heads on the road this weekend for the last Great American Conference series of the season as they travel to take on East Central at the Tiger Field in Ada, Okla. The series gets underway starting with a doubleheader at 2:00 pm on Friday, followed by two games on Saturday beginning at 12:00 pm to finish out the series and the Bulldog's season.
 
After going 2-2 last weekend in a conference series against Southern Nazarene, the Lady Bulldogs are now 21-28 on the season and 20-20 in conference play. Closing in on the last GAC series of the season, SWOSU ranks fifth in the conference standings taking on an East Central team that ranks seventh in the league.
 
As a team, SWOSU's offense has hit 39 homeruns, 14 triples, 59 doubles, and 212 RBI on the season while batting a team average of .281. Hannah Owen bats an average of .500 connecting on five hits with just 10 at bats while earning two doubles and seven RBI. Leading the Dawgs in homeruns is Amanda Moreno with 12 on the season combined with 15 doubles and 34 RBI. Samantha Householder bats .336 and leads the team in RBI with 36 while also putting up eight homeruns and six doubles and triples.
 
Hannah Morris connects on the most hits with 59 while earning 24 RBI, six doubles, and five triples while batting .362. Kaytlin Donaldson, Allyson Gafford, and Sidney Kirk have all earned double figures in RBI with Donaldson hitting 27 along with four homeruns, Gafford connecting on 35 hits to earn 18 RBI with six doubles, and Kirk earning 17 RBI and five homeruns.
 
The pitching staff for the Bulldogs comes from Alisa Friesen, Kaytlin Donaldson, and Miranda Grover who combine for 106 strikeouts. Friesen has gone 12-11 on the season with an ERA of 4.10 and two saves while striking out 52 batters. Donaldson has earned three saves on the season along with striking out 40 batters. Grover goes 4-4 with an ERA of 4.77 and adding one save.
