WEATHERFORD, Okla. – This weekend, SWOSU Softball will host a Great American Conference series against Southern Nazarene at the SWOSU Softball Field located at the Athletic Complex. Action will get underway starting with a doubleheader on Friday at 2:00 pm, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday as well.
The Lady Bulldogs have earned eight straight wins and will look to extend that streak come Friday and Saturday. SWOSU has swept the last to GAC matchup, one against NWOSU and the other against Oklahoma Baptist, to help improve their record to 19-26 and 18-18 in conference play. This week, SWOSU ranks number six in the GAC standings, while Southern Nazarene takes the seventh spot on the list.
Amanda Moreno earned a homerun last weekend against Oklahoma Baptist adding to s total of 10 on the season while also hitting 15 doubles and 30 RBI.
Hannah Franklin continues to lead the team in batting average hitting .376, while also earning 16 RBI on the season.
Hannah Morris bats an average of .354, connecting on 52 hits with six doubles, five triples, three homeruns, and 22 RBI.
Samantha Householder adds 34 RBI, five doubles, six triples, and seven homeruns to SWOSU's statistics while also batting .326.
Pitching for the Bulldogs is led by
Alisa Friesen, who was announced the GAC Freshman of the Week. Friesen pitched in all six games last week, five of which she started, helping SWOSU add six wins to their record. She improves her record to 10-10 on the season with an ERA of 3.86 in 119.2 innings while also striking out 51 batters.
