Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Baseball travels to Edmond, Okla. to take on UCO on Wednesday evening in a non-conference game starting at 5:00 pm
- The Dawgs look to bounce back after hosting William Jewell last weekend and dropping the series 2-1 to the Cardinals despite winning the first game of the series with a final of 5-2
- Central Oklahoma sits with a record of 5-2 after going 4-0 last weekend at Wendell Simmons Field, defeating Arkansas Tech three times and Drury once

Central Oklahoma (5-2)
- The Bronchos finished the 2018 as MIAA champions after finishing 37-21 and 25-11 in conference play
- UCO was picked second in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll at the beginning of the year after receiving three first-place spots and 107 total points
- The Bronchos started their season going 1-2 in the Edmond First Pitch Classic followed by a 4-0 winning streak in a series the next weekend

SWOSU: Zack Saunders (181-156, 8th season)
- Two-time Great American Conference Coach of the Year, winning the award in 2013 and 2016
- Inducted into the Muskogee Athletic Hall of Fame on October 13, 2016
- Earned his 100th career victory at SWOSU against Northwestern Oklahoma State on April 24, 2015
- Previously served as an assistant at SWOSU for six seasons under former Bulldog coaches Charles Teasley and Scott Selby
- Played collegiately at Kansas State following two seasons at Connors State playing on nationally-ranked junior college teams
 
UCO: John Martin (109-66-1, 4th season)
- Since being name head coach of UCO in 2016, Martin has led his team to back-to-back 37 win seasons, making it to the NCAA Tournament Central Regional for both of those years
- Last season, he got his 100th game win after winning the final game of the season and winning UCO its first MIAA Championship
- Under Martin, the Bronchos has had 13 All-MIAA selections, four All-Region Honors, and three All-Americans

SWOSU Notes
 - Alex Pimentel led the Bulldogs offensively against William Jewell, batting .385 for the series with five hits, four RBI and one run scored
- Alex Bedard was the only other SWOSU player in the lineup all three games to hit above .200, going 3-for-11 at the plate for a .273 batting average while scoring two runs and stealing a base
- Seven other SWOSU players recorded exactly one hit against WJC as the Bulldogs were limited to a team average of .163 for the series
- Cooper Cantwell pitched a complete game in the Bulldogs game one win over the Cardinals, striking out six while allowing two runs – one earned – on four hits
- SWOSU used 10 different pitchers in the William Jewell series and finished the weekend with a 4.67 ERA while WJC hit .287 against the Bulldog pitchers

- The Bulldogs open Great American Conference this weekend by hosting a three-game series against East Central, which will feature a single game on Friday at 2:00 pm and a noon doubleheader on Saturday
