ALVA, Okla. – SWOSU Softball will make the trek to Alva on Tuesday (April 17) to battle Northwestern in another midweek doubleheader against the rival Rangers.
 
The Bulldogs are currently 0-2 against Northwestern this season after they dropped both ends of the season's first doubleheader back on April 4 by scores of 8-2 and 9-4 in Weatherford. Now the series will shift to Alva where the Dawgs will look to even up the score with a pair of wins and salvage the regular season split.
 
The good news is SWOSU will bring momentum into Tuesday, after most recently sweeping Sunday's doubleheader against Henderson State to close out the road series in Arkansas. Saturday began rough as the Bulldogs were run ruled by the Reddies by identical scores of 9-1, but the Dawgs bounced back one day later to earn the series split when they defeated HSU 8-1 and 3-2.
 
Rileigh Ricken (4-14) and Kaytlin Donaldson (1-3) picked up wins in the circle on Sunday, as Ricken earned her team leading fourth victory while Donaldson notched her first.
 
At the plate this year, SWOSU is led by five players hitting above the .300 mark including Allyson Gafford (.360), Sidney Kirk (.359) and Kinsey Skroh (.357) who are responsible for nearly half of total RBIs this season.
 
SWOSU will close out the week in Weatherford when they play host to Ouachita in a four-game GAC series. The Dawgs are set to play the final eight games of the regular season at home by hosting Ouachita and Arkansas Tech in back-to-back weekends.
