Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Softball continues their streak of games away from Weatherford with a four-game series against No. 12 Harding in Arkansas on Sunday and Monday
- The Bulldogs have battled a difficult early-season schedule, which has them entering Tuesday's game with a record of 0-6
- Last season, SWOSU took one of four from a Harding team who came into the matchup ranked No. 23 in the nation  
 
The Opponent
#12 Harding (5-1)
- Currently is ranked No. 12 in the latest NFCA National Poll after beginning the season 5-1
- Picked up four wins over MIAA opponents to open up the season, holding a 4-1 mark against the MIAA as a whole this season
- Batting .301 as a team led by Peyton Mills at .421 while holding a team ERA of 1.26 on the mound led by Amanda Berry with a 0.71 ERA in 19.2 innings pitched
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kim Maher (18-39, 2nd season)
- Enters year two of her time at the helm of SWOSU Softball looking to continue the rebuilding process of the program
- Named the fourth head coach in SWOSU Softball history on June 2, 2016, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the collegiate, professional and international levels of softball
- Spent eight seasons as the head coach at Purdue University, leading the Boilermakers to 240 victories and two NCAA Tournament appearances from 2006-13
- Previously coached at California-Berkeley as an assistant coach from 2000-05 following a playing career with USA Softball and the Women's Professional Softball League (WPSL)
 
Harding: Phil Berry (150-91, 5th season)
- Restarted the Harding Softball program in 2014 after it had been canceled after a successful five-year run in 1985
- 2017 GAC Coach of the Year in a season where he saw his Lady Bisons go 58-9 and win both the Great American Conference regular season and tournament championships, the Central Region 1 tournament championship and concluded the season ranked ninth in Division II
 
SWOSU Notes
- Sidney Kirk has recorded a hit in each of the last four games, including three doubles and one home run, and she is hitting .455 for the year
- In limited action, Kinsey Skroh has five hits in six at-bats for a team-leading .833 batting average with one run batted in
- As a team, the Bulldogs are hitting .291with seven players hitting .300 or better on the year
- The struggles for SWOSU have come in the pitching circle, where the team has an ERA of 11.20 with opponents hitting .434 for the year
- Hannah Morris and Samantha Householder are the lone position players to appear in and start each game this season
- Morris is tied for the team lead with five hits while Householder has hit one of the Bulldogs two home runs

Looking Ahead
- The Bulldogs will host UCO on Wednesday (Feb. 28) before welcoming East Central to Weatherford over the weekend for a home conference series against the Tigers
