WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Soccer was tied 0-0 with West Texas A&M in the 13th minute when lightning struck, forcing the players to leave the field and wait out nearby storms on Thursday evening.
The match never restarted however after lingering storm cells surrounding Weatherford wouldn't leave the area, resetting the 30-minute lightning timer multiple times. Finally, the official word was given that the game was cancelled with no scheduled make-up date.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, September 20 for the Great American Conference opener in Alva against Northwestern Oklahoma State at 6 pm.
