WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Softball was limited to nine hits and one run during a doubleheader with the GAC's top team, No. 7-ranked Arkansas Tech, on Friday at the Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs are now 16-32 on the year and 14-24 in league play heading into another doubleheader with the Golden Suns on Saturday.
#7 Arkansas Tech 13, SWOSU 0 (5 inn.)Box Score The Golden Suns scored nine runs in the first two innings and put a number on the board in each inning but the third as they ran away for a run-rule victory in the first game. Arkansas Tech hit three home runs in the contest, matching the number of base hits for SWOSU, who got all of their hits in the final two innings. The Bulldogs had their best chance to score in the bottom of the fifth, but the game ended with runners on first and second base.

Alex Wilson had the hits for SWOSU and three different pitchers saw time in the circle against ATU.
Taylor Eaves (6-10) took the loss, starting and allowing four runs on five hits in the first inning.

Miranda McDonald scored the Bulldogs lone run of the day on an RBI single from
Ashley Jones in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game at 1-1. Tech would respond with one run in the second and two in the third to regain the advantage in the game.
The Bulldogs got more baserunners on in Game 2, with their best threat in the fifth inning when they loaded the bases with one out against ATU's starting pitcher. The Golden Suns countered with Jalissa Gum, their Game 1 ace and reigning NFCA National Pitcher of the Week, who got a quick strikeout and pop out to end the threat. Arkansas Tech added two runs in the top of the sixth and Gum held SWOSU hitless in the final two innings to get the save.
Taya Haney (6-13) took the loss in the circle after allowing 11 hits and six runs to the Golden Suns in 5.1 innings.
Larie Amos held ATU without a hit in the final 1.1 innings.
