Setting the Scene:
- SWOSU Soccer (11-3-1, 8-2 GAC) plays Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday, October 27 under the lights in Shawnee starting at 6 pm
- The Bulldogs are on the verge of potentially clinching a Great American Conference Championship with a win over the Lady Bison
- The last time these two teams met, the Dawgs won in overtime 3-2 thanks to a Shelley Mueller put-back goal   
 
The Coaches:
SWOSU: Mark Persson (68-55-12; 8th season)
- Since taking over the program in 2009, Persson has amassed a 68-55-12 record, 
becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history
- Persson also led the Bulldogs to back-to-back GAC Championships in 2012 and 2013
- A two time All-Conference Coach of the Year, Persson holds a 37-24-7 record in GAC play
- He has coached one All-American, 12 All-Region players, and numerous All-Conference players during his time in Weatherford
 
Oklahoma Baptist: Mike White (67-56-8; 8th season)
- White took the helm for the Lady Bison in 2009, after being the assistant for two years
- Coach White's 2014 squad won the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament which led to the school's first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance
- He coaches competitive soccer for the Norman Youth Soccer Association in the fall and spring and during the winter months he directs the Bison Winter Futsal league at OBU's wellness center to raise money for the Lady Bisons' annual mission trips
 
The Opponent:
Oklahoma Baptist (9-4-1, 6-3-1 GAC)
- The Lady Bison currently sit in third place in the conference standings, coming off of a 1-1 tie against East Central in their last match
- In their last eight games, OKBU is 6-1-1 having only lost to SWOSU in that stretch of matches
- Ruth King leads the Lady Bison attack with seven goals this year as well as two assists to her credit
- Emma Beck has allowed 19 goals in 14 games she has guarded the net, earning 72 saves and two shutouts
 
Bulldog Facts:
- Alimata Rabo scored three goals against Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, making it her fourth hat trick of the season and 19th, 20th, and 21st goals on the year
- The Bulldogs now have two of the nation's top four goal scorers, with Rabo tied for first with two other players and Sandra Nabweteme next on the list with 19 good enough for fourth in NCAA Division II
- SWOSU currently ranks third in Division II averaging 3.93 goals per game
- Ashlyn Collier, SWOSU's third best goal scorer, ranks tied for sixth in the GAC in both goals (6) and points per game (1.07)
- With a win over OKBU, the Bulldogs can clinch the regular-season championship and solidify their hosting of the conference postseason tournament

- The Dawgs travel to Bethany, Okla. to play their final match of the regular season against Southern Nazarene on Saturday, October 29 at 5 pm
- The GAC tournament will begin November 3 and go through November 5 at the highest seeds' home field
