Setting the Scene- SWOSU enters the week carrying a league-worst nine-game losing skid
- The Bulldogs will play six Great American Conference games, beginning with a doubleheader on Tuesday against Northwestern Oklahoma State beginning at 1 pm in Weatherford. SWOSU will then play their final road games of the season in a four-game series against East Central in Ada, Okla.
- SWOSU will look to take the series against the Rangers after splitting a doubleheader in Alva, Okla., earlier this season
- The Bulldogs were swept by ECU in Weatherford last season
The CoachesSWOSU: Barbara Burnett (5-27, 1st season)- Burnett returns to her alma mater to lead the Bulldog softball program for the first time this spring
- She has spent the last four seasons among the junior college ranks at Independence Community College in Independnce, Kan. where she left as the all-time winningest coach in program history with a 112 wins
- While at Independence she led the Lady Pirates to back-to-back regional runners-up finishes while breaking numerous program records and ranking nationally in the Top Five in offensive production
- She has coached two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Americans, two National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Americans, 16 NJCAA All-Region selections and 13 All-Conference selections
Northwestern Okla.: Ricki Rothbauer (17-20, 1st season)- Rothbauer assumed the title of head coach for the Rangers, becoming the third head coach in
program history
- Prior to her appointment at NWOSU, she spent four seasons at Texas A&M-Kingsville where she
picked up 68 wins
- Rothbauer was named to the NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year in 2006
- Has also spent time at North Alabama, and was a U-18 coach for the Louisville Lady Sluggers
East Central: Destini Anderson (218-179-1, 9th season)- Anderson enters her ninth year at the helm of the ECU softball program
- Since joining the GAC, Anderson has coached one All-American, two All-Region players and 19 All-GAC players, including seven First Team All-GAC selections and a GAC Player of the Year
- Earned her 200th career win last season in a game against Southern Nazarene
- Prior to taking over for the Tigers, Anderson served as the head coach at Canyon (Texas) HS and was an assistant coach at SWOSU
The OpponentNorthwestern Okla. (17-20, 12-14 GAC)- The Rangers have a league-worst .263 batting average to go along with a .391 slugging percentage. Jordan Haya leads NWOSU in both categories with a .367 batting average and a .706 slugging percentage that ranks in the top 10 in the GAC
- Haya is currently tied for the third-most home runs in the league with 10
- NWOSU's pitching staff ranks in the top half of the conference with a 4.17 ERA, led by Allora Miller who has a 3.46 ERA
- The Rangers have the fourth-best fielding percentage in the GAC at .960
East Central (19-12, 16-7 GAC)- The Tigers have some of the most active bats in the GAC with a batting average of .326 and a slugging percentage of .474. ECU has four players with at least a .380 average, led by Taylor Davis at .390. Jordynn VanPelt leads the league with a .827 slugging percentage
- ECU has the third-best ERA in the conference at 3.85, paced by Marissa Shaffer's 3.04 ERA
- The Tigers have committed just 36 erros this season and have a .959 fielding percentage
Last Time Out- SWOSU took on Harding in a four-game conference series in Weatherford, going 0-4 for the weekend
