Setting the Scene
- Reigning Great American Conference Player of the Week Adrienne Martinez and the Bulldogs return to the Athletic Complex after going 2-4 last week and earning their first conference series win against in-state rival Northwestern Oklahoma State
- SWOSU will play the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State in a four-game series on Sunday, April 19 and Monday, April 20. SWOSU will play their final two series of the season in Weatherford
- In Durant, Okla., last season, the Bulldogs went 1-3 against SOSU. SWOSU used a late-game rally to win the final game of the series 5-3

The Coaches
SWOSU: Barbara Burnett (7-31, 1st season)
- Burnett returns to her alma mater to lead the Bulldog softball program for the first time this spring
- She has spent the last four seasons among the junior college ranks at Independence Community College in Independnce, Kan. where she left as the all-time winningest coach in program history with a 112 wins
- While at Independence she led the Lady Pirates to back-to-back regional runners-up finishes while breaking numerous program records and ranking nationally in the Top Five in offensive production
- She has coached two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Americans, two National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Americans, 16 NJCAA All-Region selections and 13 All-Conference selections

Southeastern Oklahoma State: Ron Faubion (630-259, 16th season; 751-299, career)
- The Savage Storm's all-time winningest softball coach returns for a 16th season at the helm
- A two-time GAC Coach of the Year, Faubion led SOSU to the NCAA National Finals last year and ended the season with the No. 4 ranking, the highest ranking in program history
- During his time in Durant, Okla., Faubion has developed 93 all-conference players, 38 all-region selections and 10 All-Americans
- In his first 15 seasons in charge, Faubion has led the Savage Storm to the postseason 10 times, making the NCAA Regionals seven times, the NCAA Super Regional twice and the National Finals  once
- Prior to taking over at SOSU, Faubion coached baseball and softball at Oologah (Okla.) High School for 21 years. He has been inducted into the Oklahoma High School Softball Hall of Fame

The Opponent
Southeastern Oklahoma State (25-18, 19-7 GAC)
- Southeastern enters the game having won their last three games, most recently taking a doubleheader over Northeastern State
- The Savage Storm is second in the league and is 15th in NCAA Division II in team batting average at .346 to go along with a slugging percentage of .467. SOSU has two players ranked in the top 10 in the GAC with Haley Strawn (.433) and Sydney Kramer (.411). Strawn leads the team with a .688 slugging percentage with five home runs on the season
- SOSU has the 23rd-best on-base percentage nationally at .412. Strawn, again, leads the team in the category and is sixth in the league with a .486 OBP. Jessica Simmons is also in the top 10 with a .479 OBP
- With a 5.24 team ERA, Southeastern ranks ninth in the league. Jessica Seay has a team-best 4.18 ERA in 112.1 innings pitched
- Errors have been a cause for concern this season. The Savage Storm has commited a league-high 73 errors and rank 10th in fielding percentage at .937

Last Time Out
- The Bulldogs went 2-4 last week with a 2-0 sweep of NWOSU in a midweek doubleheader before dropping all four games to East Central on the weekend. The two wins against the Rangers gave SWOSU the 3-1 series victory
- Adrienne Martinez went 10-19 at the plate and reached base 13 times. She hit four home runs and recording 16 RBI
- Ashley Dunigan hit .500 for the week with 10 hits, a double, a triple and four RBI. She also stole a team-best two bases
- Laura Wilson and Taylor Eaves picked up wins against NWOSU and pitched a combined 18.0 innings in the circle
- Ashley Filer hit two home runs in the first game against the Rangers

Checking the Standings
- SWOSU (7-31, 3-23 GAC) is at the bottom of the standings
- Four teams have already clinched berths to the GAC Tournament: Henderson State (30-8, 21-5 GAC), SOSU (23-18, 19-7 GAC), ECU (24-13, 21-8 GAC) and Arkansas Tech (32-12, 19-9 GAC) 

Bulldog Facts
- The Bulldogs have a .307 batting average, good for seventh in the league. Maci Brown leads the team with a .424 average, while Martinez is second on the team with a .378
- SWOSU boasts a .459 slugging percentage, paced by Martinez's .748, the fourth-best percentage in the GAC
- Martinez is tied for third in the league in home runs with 11 to her credit. She also ranks ninth with 36 RBI
- The Bulldog pitching staff has a combined ERA of 7.27. Rileigh Ricken boasts a team-best ERA of 6.29. SWOSU has two pitchers with at least 20 strikeouts in Ricken (29) and Wilson (23)
- Despite 92 steal attempts, SWOSU has caught baserunners stealing a league-best 21 times. Ashley Filer has snuffed out a GAC-leading 13 steal attempts

Looking Ahead
- SWOSU wraps up the season with a final home series against Southern Arkansas beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, April 24. First pitch is slated for 1 pm.
- The Bulldogs went 1-3 against the Muleriders last season. SWOSU won the first game of the series 3-1 in Magnolia, Ark., in an 11-inning game that saw Martinez and Vivo both record RBI in the final inning
- Seniors will be honored on Senior Day on Saturday, April 25
