Box Score DENTON, Texas – A five-run second inning by Texas Woman's proved costly as the Bulldogs fell 8-3 in non-conference action at Pioneer Field. 
SWOSU got on the board first in the top of the second. 
Maci Brown stepped up to the plate as the lead-off batter. With a 1-0 count, Brown went the yard for a solo effort. The Pioneers would answer with five runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning to carry a 5-1 read into the third. 
The lead would remain unchanged until the bottom of the fourth when TWU tacked on an additional run to push the lead to 6-1. SWOSU answered with a run of their own in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded, 
Samantha Perry reached on a fielder's choice, driving in 
Sierra Potts. 
Kaity Rash was then inserted into the lineup to pinch hit for 
Makensy Payne, but flew out to centerfield, stranding three runners. TWU returned the favor, plating two in the bottom of the sixth. 
Heading into the final frame, SWOSU trailed 8-2 with the Bulldogs at the top of the lineup. 
Ashley Dunigan reached base on a walk, and moved to second base on a ground ball hit by 
Miranda McDonald. 
Ashley Jones hit a single to right field soon after, bringing Dunigan around to home. However, that would be the last scored by SWOSU, sealing the win for the Pioneers. 
Molly Vivo got the start in the circle for the Bulldogs, taking her sixth loss of the season after giving up five runs on five hits in 2.2 innings pitched. 
Laura Wilson pitched the final 3.1 innings, recording three strikeouts but giving up three runs of her own. SWOSU recorded just two hits in the game via Jones and Brown. 
SWOSU now sits at 4-12 on the season. The Bulldogs return to action with a four-game conference series next Friday and Saturday, March 13-14 at home against Henderson State. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 1 pm.
