Setting the Scene- The Bulldogs will look to secure their first wins of the season when they meet Central Oklahoma and Midwestern State this weekend in non-conference action.
- The weekend begins with the team traveling to Edmond, Okla. on Friday to take on the Bronchos at 4 PM. The Bulldogs went 5-3-1 on the road last season.
- Sunday, the team returns to the SWOSU Athletic Complex to host Midwestern State at 1 PM. The Bulldogs are 0-1-1 this season at home.
Last Time Out- The Bulldogs opened their season against No. 15 Minnesota State - Mankato, dropping a 1-0 decision to the visiting Mavericks.
- Scoreless through the first half, the Bulldogs went to the locker room hoping to keep their defensive shape solid through the second half.
- Halfway through the second half, play was halted for 46 minutes due to the threat of lightning in the area.
- The lone goal came shortly after the restart in play off a cross from Sydney Temple and was scored by Emily Morris in the 77th minute.

Courtney Flores recorded a career-best nine saves in the match, facing 10 shots on goal and 22 shots total.
- Mavericks All-Central Region pick Korey Kronforst was held to just two shots in the contest, neither of which was on target.
- Following the loss to Minnesota State, the Bulldogs then hosted Minot State. This was a rematch of the 2012 NCAA II first round match that the Bulldogs easily won 3-0. This time, the teams would prove to be evenly matched, with each team grabbing a goal in the first half.

Olivia Butler opened the scoring for the home side off a nice ball from
Ryle Danker. Danker sent the ball into the box, and Butler beat her mark to the ball and put in a low shot past Minot keeper Gemma Biasetto. It was Butler's first goal of her career.
- The Bulldogs would maintain the lead until the end of the half, when a foul gave the visiting Beavers a free kick in a dangerous area. The ball was sent in by Jamie Ayala to the feet of Taylor Bachman-Williams who put it in the net.
- After the break, both teams came out searching for the winning goal, but after a scoreless second half and two empty extra time periods, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Coaches- Mike Cook is the only coach the Bronchos have had in their 16 years as a program. Over that time, he has amassed a 239-85-21 record. His overall record is 327-107-22.
- Under his leadership, the Bronchos have made the national tournament nine times. On the way, Cook's teams have picked up six regular season and five conference tournament titles.
- He has coached 82 All-Conference, 47 All-Region and six All-American players while with the program.
- Cook has been named the Lone Star Conference coach of the year six times, and the Midwest Region coach of the year twice.
- Damian Clarke is in his debut season as coach of the Mustangs. He was hired away from Ft. Lewis, where he earned a 67-20-11 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. His overall record is 106-37-14.
- While at Ft. Lewis, Clarke's teams qualified for five national tournaments. They hosted the regional tournament four times, making the regional final twice and winning once. Additionally, he earned two RMAC regular season titles and one RMAC tournament title.
- In 2009 and 2010, Clarke was named both the RMAC and Central Region coach of the year.
The Opponents- The Bulldogs will look to shut down 2013 leading scorer Sarah Purcell as she returns for her senior year to lead the attack for the Bronchos. Last season she scored nine goals and provided one assist. For her career, she has 12 goals and three assists.
- UCO's defense that allowed just over a goal a game at 1.10 returns upperclassmen duo Quinn Tookey and Miranda Thorne. Tookey, who started all 21 games last season, and Thorne, who started 20 of 21, will be helped by sophomore Ashley McDaniel who had 16 starts of her own last season.
- The UCO Bronchos opened their season last Sunday against #15 Minnesota State - Mankato in Edmond, Okla. The Mavericks ran out 3-0 winners in a game that saw Kronforst score a header from a corner kick inside six minutes.
- Kronforst further added to the Bronchos misery when she dribbled through the Bronchos defense at beat Bronchos keeper Elle Stover two go up 2-0.
- The final goal was recorded by Jessica Bowe from a rebound off a save by Stover.
- The Midwestern State Mustangs opened their season last Thursday on the road at Colorado Mesa. The match progressed through two halves and two extra time periods, ending in a 2-2 draw.
- Nicole Coetzer and Alyssa Parkhill both opened their accounts for the season in the tie. Coetzer has brought her career goal total to two after netting one goal in her freshman campaign. Coetzer currently boasts a career shooting percentage of .222, with two goals on nine total shots. For Parkhill, it was her first ever goal for the Mustangs.
- Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Courtney Burnette recorded 10 saves in her first start in goal.
- The Mustangs then took No. 24 ranked Ft. Lewis (Colo.) through two scoreless halves and two extra time periods as well to end the match in a 0-0 draw.
- MSU faced 28 shots, and Burnette saved all 12 that were put on frame. To the Mustangs' credit, they recorded 13 shots, but only managed three on goal.
