Bulldogs Shutout Quincy in Doubleheader Sweep

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Jonathan Johnson and Jacob Swigart both pitched complete-game shutouts to lead SWOSU baseball to a sweep of Quincy on Saturday at the Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs won the games by scores of 4-0 and 3-0, improving to 9-7 on the year and pushing their current winning streak to six games.

It was Johnson pitching the first gem, allowing just two hits and striking out three Hawks to improve to 2-2 on the year. His offense backed him up with two hits and two RBI from Kale Thaxton as they took the opener. Tyler Rapp also had two hits, batted one run in and scored a run in the effort.

Swigart followed that up by allowing just five hits in his complete-game victory. He struck out two batters and improved to 2-1 on the year with the win. SWOSU scored two runs in the third, including another RBI hit by Thaxton and Zack Mang singled in Mitchell Brittain in the fourth for the third run.
 
 
SWOSU and Quincy will play another doubleheader on Sunday, starting at noon at the Athletic Complex.
