ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The scores on Saturday were closer as the SWOSU softball team completed a series against Henderson State, but the results were still the same as the Bulldogs dropped both games of the doubleheader. The Lady Reddies won by scores of 7-6 and 3-1m  handing the Bulldogs their first conference series sweep of the season.

Henderson State 3, SWOSU 1
Box Score

Nikki Brandt homered in the top of the first inning to give SWOSU the early lead but it would be all the offense the Bulldogs manufactured in the game. After getting two hits in the opening inning, SWOSU was held to just three more hits over the final six innings.

Henderson State did all their damage in a three-run third inning, getting three hits to help them reclaim control of the game. Mallory Davis tossed a complete game, allowing seven hits and three runs but suffered her fifth loss of the season.

The Bulldogs (5-17, 2-10 GAC) find themselves mired in an eight-game losing skid, which they have a chance to snap on Tuesday when they host Minnesota-Duluth at the Athletic Complex. UMD defeated SWOSU 5-1 earlier this season in tournament action in Bentonville, Ark.
