WEATHERFORD, Okla. – For the first time since the season opener, the SWOSU softball team is back in action at home as they host Arkansas-Monticello to open Great American Conference play this weekend.
The teams will play a four-game series with doubleheaders starting on Friday at 1 pm and Saturday at noon.
UAM comes into the game 7-4 after picking up five wins during the 8-State Classic last weekend in Bentonville, Ark., along with a season-opening sweep of Christian Brothers at home. The Bulldogs are 3-5 on the year with victories over New Mexico Highlands, Northwest Missouri State and Rockhurst to their credit early in the season.
