Setting the Scene
After suffering their first defeat of 2013, SWOSU football will look to get back on track Saturday when Arkansas-Monticello comes to town. The teams enter the game with identical 2-1 records, with all games played being against Great American Conference opponents.
SWOSU defeated Harding and Arkansas Tech to open the season 2-0 for the first time since 2007. Last Saturday, the Bulldogs were downed by Southern Arkansas 20-17 and denied a chance to start 3-0 for the first time since 1992.

That year, SWOSU made their only trip to Monticello and suffered a 35-21 loss to the Boll Weevils. Last season, SWOSU defeated UAM 38-21 at Fast Lane Field. The series is tied at 1-1 with each team winning once on their home field.
