2013 (Junior): First Team All-Great American Conference selection at defensive tackle for the second consecutive season…Earned Third Team All-Super Region Three honors from the Don Hansen Football Committee…Battled increased attention from opponents to still record 40 tackles (15 solo, 25 assist), 4.0 tackles for loss and three sacks…Also tallied two quarterback hurries…Had a season-high seven tackles against Ouachita Baptist (Oct. 5) and Henderson State (Oct. 12)…Added 1.5 TFL and a sack against Henderson State…Earned third SWOSU letter.
 
2012 (Sophomore): First team All-Great American Conference selection at defensive tackle…Finished the season with 52 total tackles (27 unassisted, 25 assisted)…Ranked fourth in the GAC with 14.0 tackles for loss and also recorded five sacks…Was credited with three quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two blocked kicks…Tallied eight or more tackles on five occasions, including a season-high nine against Henderson State…Had a season-high 4.0 tackles for loss and two sacks in the season opener at FCS-member Stephen F. Austin…Earned second SWOSU letter.
 
2011 (Freshman): Named GAC Freshman of the Year and also a member of the conference's second team...Finished third on the team in tackles with 59 and was the team leader in tackles for loss (9), yards lost (63) and sacks (5)...Had a season-best 12 tackles against Harding...Had nine tackles, including two for lost yardage in finale against Arkansas Monticello…Earned first SWOSU letter.
 
Mansfield Summit HS: Two-time, 7-4A all-district selection at Mansfield Summit High School where he finished his senior season with 90 tackles and 10 quarterback sacks.
 
Personal: Son of April Benton…Has three brothers, Jake, Brandon and Joseph…Majoring in exercise science.
