Central Oklahoma Hands SWOSU Soccer First Home Loss Since 2011

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The No. 24-ranked SWOSU soccer team battled in-state foe Central Oklahoma on Sunday at the SWOSU Athletic Complex, falling 1-0 to the Bronchos in non-conference action.
 
The teams played a scoreless first half with UCO attempting five shots to four for the Bulldogs. Early in the second half, in the 51st minute, UCO's Emily Hahn found Caitlin Bond, who became the first opponent to score a goal on Courtney Flores at home this season.
 
SWOSU attempted six shots on goal in the match but were unable to get any past UCO's Brandi Bartley. Alexis Russell, Jessica Carbonara and Eva Rule each had two shots on goal.
 
Flores made five saves, but was saddled with her first loss of the season, moving to 2-1-1.
 
The loss snaps a 12-game home winning streak for the Lady Bulldogs, dating back to October 23, 2011, which was also a loss to Central Oklahoma. SWOSU falls do 3-2-1 on the year with the loss heading into conference play, which opens next weekend at Southern Nazarene and East Central.
