SEARCY, Ark. – Despite a substantial shot advantage, the No. 18-ranked SWOSU soccer team was unable to score on Friday night and suffered their first conference loss of the season to Harding by a score of 1-0.

The Lady Bisons got their goal in the 71st minute when a Larkin Hatcher shot from  well away from the goal hit off the cross bar and found the back of the net. SWOSU outshot Harding 15-9 and had four shots on goal to three for the Lady Bisons but still tasted defeat.

Paige Doherty and Jessica Carbonara each attempted four shots for the Bulldogs with Carbonara getting two shots on goal but Kaitlyn Miller made four saves for the Lady Bisons, holding SWOSU scoreless for just the second time this season.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 9-3-2 on the year and 5-1-1 in the Great American Conference, but they still sit atop the conference standings. SWOSU will face second-place Ouachita Baptist on Sunday, needing a win to stay in first place. That match will begin at 1 pm from Arkadelphia, Ark.
