Bulldog Baseball is on the road to take on Ouachita Baptist in a critical late season series with many postseason implications on the line. The games will begin with a doubleheader scheduled to start at noon on Friday before closing the series out with just one game on Saturday, with start time remaining at noon.

SWOSU enters the meeting with some gained momentum as they have won four of their last five games, including a big series win over Southeastern in Weatherford last week. The Dawgs currently stand in 11th place in the GAC race where the top eight earn the right to keep their season going. The Tigers are in the group right ahead of the Bulldogs at 11-13, where three teams are tied with that record at the eighth spot, meaning this week could boost the Dawgs up the standings with a series victory.

Since joining the GAC, the Dawgs lead the series 25-15 but are just 9-9 in Arkadelphia in that time frame. The Bulldogs have not won a series in the Natural State since 2016, as they have just won one of the three games each time these teams have played on Ouachita's home diamond for the last three trips.

The offense, which has been dangerous all season, has taken off late in these past five games as the Bulldogs have averaged 11 runs overall, and over 13 in each of the last four wins. In those last five games Keaton Fisher has found his stride as he is hitting .632, having two of each doubles, triples and home runs, while drawing three walks. Also in that same stretch, Jose Mendoza has followed up Fisher, hitting .611 and having two extra base hits while only striking out once.

The Tigers as a team are hitting just .277 on the season and are led by Jaren Ceasar, who is sitting at a .411 BA with ten extra base hits on the year. Their next bat who meets the minimum requirements is Joseph Bolin with a .308 average. The Bulldog squad has six players with over .310 average.
