SWOSU Baseball earned its first GAC series win last week by sweeping Southern Nazarene and now heads back into Arkansas looking to secure a road series win over Arkansas-Monticello in the longest road trip of the season.

The Dawgs took the 2025 series between the two teams 2-1 last season, winning the rubber match 9-2. Since 2012, they are 16-28 against the Boll Weevils, with their longest winning streak being three games, a number they have a chance to match in the opening game on Friday. In Monticello, that record is just 5-10, and their last series win away from home came in 2022.

The offense for the Dawgs has continued to produce this season as they are currently batting .355, the second-best mark in the conference, just behind Oklahoma Baptist, and the sixth-best in the nation. They have scored 247 runs on the year (fifth in the nation) and have racked up 278 hits (seventh in the nation), both the most in the GAC. Arkansas-Monticello is the only other team in the league to eclipse 200 runs on the year with 201. The Dawgs are also the best team in the conference at drawing walks, earning 142 free bases while striking out a league-low 115 times.

For the Dawgs, Landon Meyer has been hitting .421 on the year with 40 hits, six doubles, and six home runs. He has drawn 18 walks and struck out just eight times. Reigning GAC Player of the Week Kotaro Wakui is hitting .380 with 35 hits, including eight doubles, three triples, and three home runs.

Garrett Folmar has been the top arm for the Dawgs, allowing just two runs, one earned, in 21.1 innings pitched. He leads the team with a 0.42 ERA and has earned three wins with no losses. He has walked just five batters while striking out 16 and has allowed only one extra-base hit.

Arkansas-Monticello enters the week at 12-9 overall and 9-3 in conference play, tied for the best record in the league. After winning their first three GAC series, they dropped last week's matchup with Arkansas Tech 2-1. Like SWOSU, the Boll Weevils have been productive on offense, holding the third-best batting average in the conference at .331 while scoring the second-most runs with 201.

Camden Tanner is the top bat for the Weevils, hitting a conference-high .449 with five home runs and 23 RBIs. Hunter Heath has been their top arm, throwing 21.1 innings with a 3.80 ERA and a 2-1 record. He has allowed 11 runs, nine earned, on 22 hits while striking out 20 batters.
