Bulldogs Earn No. 10 Spot in First NCBWA Regional Rankings

WEATHERFORD – Fresh off a four-game series sweep of Adams State, SWOSU Baseball debuted at No. 10 in the first installment of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Central Region rankings, released Monday.

SWOSU was one of four Great American Conference teams represented in the opening rankings, highlighting the league's strong start to the season. Central Missouri, last year's Division II national runner-up, claimed the top spot, narrowly edging Pittsburg State.

The Bulldogs are off to a 6-2 start through the first two weekends of the season. SWOSU opened the year by splitting a four-game series with Northwest Missouri State before rolling through Adams State with a four-game sweep this past weekend.

The offense has fueled the early success. SWOSU is hitting .378 as a team, ranking eighth nationally in Division II through two weeks of play. The Bulldogs also lead all of Division II with six triples on the season.

SWOSU will return to action Tuesday with a midweek matchup against Randall University before opening Great American Conference play on the road at Arkansas Tech this Friday and Saturday.
