SWOSU Men's Basketball picked up two massive wins last week and will look to carry that momentum into the Arkadelphia trip slated for the days ahead.

The Bulldogs enter the week with new life at 8-11 overall and 5-8 in conference play after sweeping last week's home tests against Arkansas Tech and Harding, evening the season series between the teams after Tech and Harding both came out on top in the opening two GAC matchups.

With conference standings beginning to tighten, SWOSU remains in the fight for a spot in the GAC Tournament. The Dawgs are currently tied with Henderson State and Arkansas Tech at 5-8, with those teams occupying the 6-8 seeds.

SWOSU's offense came to life on Saturday, scoring a season-high 94 points on 55% shooting while knocking down 13 three-pointers, tying a season best. The Bulldogs have averaged just 69.6 points per game this season, ranking 10th in the GAC, but momentum was built with last week's wins. On the defensive side, SWOSU also allows 69.6 points per game.

Ty Frierson turned in his best performance as a Dawg, pouring in 33 points with six assists and three steals against Harding while serving as the catalyst for the Bulldogs' offensive resurgence. On the year, he averages 13.6 points and 1.8 steals per game, which ranks third in the GAC, while also sitting top five in assist-to-turnover ratio. Kayden Carter adds 11.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Kray Rogers also had his best outing of the season on Saturday, scoring 22 points with six made three-pointers. He averages nearly 10 points per game while leading the team with 5.3 rebounds.

Ouachita holds a 19-14 advantage in the series since joining the GAC, while SWOSU is just 3-10 in Arkadelphia during that stretch.

The Tigers (16-3, 12-1 GAC) enter the week ranked No. 20 in the latest NABC poll, their highest national ranking since 2008. SWOSU fell to Ouachita Baptist 61-56 in Weatherford earlier this season but will look to bounce back with another strong offensive performance. The Tigers boast the second-ranked offense in the league at 75.4 points per game, while their defense sits atop the GAC by allowing just 60.2 points per contest. OUA shoots a league-high 34.6% from beyond the three-point line while allowing the fewest made threes on the lowest percentage on the defensive end.

Devon Hancock leads the Tigers with 17.2 points per game and has scored in single digits just twice this season, both coming in two of their last three games. He ranks third in the conference in scoring. Crew Flowers and PJ Neal each average just over 10 points per game, with Neal ranking fourth in the GAC with 3.5 assists per night.

Henderson State has earned a 16-11 advantage over the Bulldogs since joining the GAC. In Arkadelphia, the Reddies hold a 7-6 edge, though SWOSU has won back-to-back games against Henderson State.

HSU enters the week at 8-11 overall and 5-8 in conference play, tied in the standings with the Dawgs, with SWOSU earning a win over the Reddies in Weatherford just a few weeks ago. Henderson State scores and allows 73.6 points per game. The Reddies shoot 47% from the field, which ranks third in the league, but sit last in three-point percentage at 27.9% and average the fewest makes per game at just 4.2. They also rank last in assist-to-turnover ratio at 0.75.

Zaveion Okoh leads the Reddies with an even 15 points per game. In his last outing, he tied a season high with four made three-pointers, and earlier this season he scored 36 points against Arkansas-Fort Smith. His 1.7 steals per game are tied with teammate KJ Sykes for fifth in the conference. Both Xavier Owens and Sykes add over 11 points per game to the Henderson State offensive attack.
