WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Men's Basketball has announced nine new additions to the team for the 2026-27 season.
The nine incoming Bulldogs will join six returners from '25-26 to round out the 15-man roster. Five freshman, three junior college transfers, and one international recruit make up the class. Four of the nine newly announced team members have hometowns inside the state of Oklahoma.
"I love our 2026 recruiting class," said head coach Brett Weiberg. "We are bringing in nine new guys who fit what we look for in recruiting. We always want to add length and shooting while bringing in outstanding people, and I believe we accomplished that with this group. We needed to add length, and Nolan (6-11), Clay (6-8), Joel (6-7) and Thai (6-5) address that need. Darrius, Nash, Jackson, Mason and Evan are all good players who can really shoot the ball. Beyond what they bring on the court, every one of these young men is an outstanding person who will make Bulldog Nation proud. I am really looking forward to coaching this group and having them join our six returners."

"I can't wait to work with Nolan. At 6-foot-11 with a solid wingspan, he is very unselfish and willing to take on any role that is required of him. Nolan is a very good defender and rebounder who will provide much-needed rim protection and interior defense. He is already a good player and will only continue to improve with experience and time. After having to fight through a few minor, nagging injuries this past season, Nolan is now healthy and ready to go. He played two seasons at Blinn College under Scott Schumacher."
"I am really excited about Thai. He is a 6-foot-5 utility guard who just helps teams win. He plays hard, knows how to play and wants to win. Thai played the past two seasons at Eastern Oklahoma State under Tim Miser. What I love about Thai is his efficiency, as his shooting splits are 47.9/41.7/83.6. He can shoot the ball, defend and rebound, and I cannot wait to see how he adapts to our level. I know he will make an impact. He is a good person and a winner."
"Mason comes to us from Kennedale High School, where he played a huge role on a state championship team. He is a strong, physical wing who can really shoot the three. Mason is also a plus defender and a great teammate. He is an outstanding student and person, and I can't wait for us to work together."
"Darrius is a strong, physical point guard who led Pasadena City College in scoring, assists and free throws made. He is tough, has experience running a team and plays to win. I believe Darrius will bring leadership by example and make an impact with the way he approaches the game. He is a good person, a good student and loves basketball. I am looking forward to coaching Darrius."
"Joel is a strong, athletic combo forward who plays with physicality and a high motor. I have really enjoyed getting to know him throughout the recruiting process, and I can't wait for us to work together. He brings needed athleticism and stature to our program and has experience playing at a high level in Germany. Joel is a good young man who loves to compete."
"Evan had an outstanding career at Jenks High School playing for Coach McChesney. He has worked extremely hard on his game, and it has paid off in a big way. Evan is the best shooter in the '26 class and is also one of the best at scoring the ball. He led Jenks High School in scoring each of the past three seasons. Evan is a winner, a great young man and has a competitive edge that I really like. He has a good bit of confidence in himself, and that is something all shooters need. Evan is an OCA All-Stater and is such a good addition to Bulldog Basketball."
"Nash is going to surprise a lot of people. He is another big-time shooter in our '26 class and can really score the ball. Nash plays hard and is a winner. He is an All-Stater in football and basketball, as well as a four-time gold medalist at the state track meet. Nash played for his dad, Ty Harman, at Cyril, where they capped off an outstanding career with a run to the state semifinals. He scored 2,671 points during his career and is an outstanding student and a leader."
"Clay is a strong, tough and physical power forward with very good size and strength who is willing to put his body on the line. He can score with either hand in the paint and has great touch around the basket. Clay plays hard and is a winner. He played for Michael Mondragon at Artesia High, where they won the 4A State Championship in 2025 and finished as the 4A State Runner-Up in 2026. Clay is a New Mexico First Team All-Stater, an outstanding student and a good person."
"Jackson is a very good and cerebral guard who is a three-level scorer with great footwork and an excellent feel for the game. He can really pass the ball and had an amazing four-year career at Weatherford High School playing for Coach Bull. Jackson played in three state championship games and won a state title. He is an OCA All-Stater and a winner."
