RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Baseball senior third baseman
Landon Meyer was named the Great American Conference Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Meyer turned in a dominant four-game series against Adams State, going 9-for-16 with three home runs, two doubles, nine RBIs, and eight runs scored. After being held hitless in the series opener, Meyer erupted for three-hit performances in each of the final three games. In SWOSU's 9-6 win in game two, he doubled twice and hit his first home run of the season. He followed with two more home runs in game three.
Meyer accounted for 14 total runs scored by the Bulldog offense throughout the series. He finished the week with a .563 batting average, a .600 on-base percentage, and a 1.250 slugging percentage.
Meyer has been a key piece of SWOSU's hot start at the plate. Through two weeks of the season, the Bulldogs rank eighth in Division II with a .378 team batting average. Meyer is currently hitting .448 on the year.
