RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Volleyball had two players take home weekly GAC honors, with Mackenzie Sims earning Setter of the Week while Katja Blanchat was named Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Sims has now earned the honor three times, matching Oklahoma Baptist's Emily Boyer for the most in the conference. She recorded 44 assists in the three-set sweep over the Crimson Storm this week, along with six digs and a solo block. Her 44 assists rank tied for the second most in a three-set match in the GAC this season.
Blanchat earns the first Player of the Week honor of her career and is the first SWOSU Offensive Player of the Week since Week 10 of the 2024 season, when Lacy Mott took home her final weekly honor. Blanchat earned the award after recording a career-high 19 kills on Thursday, committing just three errors on 32 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage. It marked her seventh match this season with a hitting percentage of at least .500.
SWOSU has four games remaining in the 2026 regular season, they host East Central on Tuesday before heading to Shawnee on Thursday night to face GAC top-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.
