WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Volleyball made quick work of East Central on Tuesday night, sweeping the Tigers 25-10, 25-20 and 25-12 at the Pioneer Event Center.

The Bulldogs won their fourth consecutive match and completed a perfect four-match homestand. SWOSU improved to 16-9 overall and 9-4 in Great American Conference play.

SWOSU hit .320 for the match, its fourth performance above .300 during October, and held ECU to a season-low -.029 hitting percentage. It was also the lowest hitting percentage by a SWOSU opponent this season. The Bulldogs finished with advantages of 40-22 in kills, 53-43 in digs and 8-3 in blocks.

The opening set remained close until SWOSU took complete control with an 11-10 lead. The Bulldogs scored the final 14 points with Jada Permenter at the service line to win the frame 25-10. Permenter served three aces during the run, while the SWOSU defense forced ECU into nine attack errors and a -.086 hitting percentage in the set.

East Central opened the second set with the first two points, but SWOSU quickly erased the deficit and later used a 9-2 run to build a 15-8 advantage. The Bulldogs stretched their lead to 23-13 before closing out the set 25-20.

SWOSU pulled away earlier in the third, turning a 4-4 tie into a 9-4 lead. The margin remained comfortable from there before the Bulldogs scored the final five points to finish the sweep.

Layla Collins led the offense with 12 kills while adding three aces and two blocks. Katja Blanchat put down six kills without an error to hit .462, while Jenna Houk and Morgan Ritchie each added seven kills. Ritchie also finished with three blocks, and Sydnee Winfrey led the Bulldogs with five.
