SWOSU Men's Basketball looks to pick up two critical road wins this week against Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello.

The Bulldogs split last week's action, opening with a decisive win over Henderson State before dropping a tight 61-56 contest to Ouachita Baptist. The Tigers sit atop the GAC as the lone undefeated team in conference play at 8-0 and are receiving votes in the NABC Coaches Poll.

Both opponents this week are 3-5 in conference play, with SWOSU just behind at 2-6. With two wins, the Bulldogs could make a significant move up the standings while holding tiebreakers over both teams.

Southern Arkansas enters the game at 6-8 overall and 3-5 in GAC play after picking up a four-point win at ECU in its last outing. SAU owns the second-highest scoring offense in the conference at 77.4 points per game, trailing only Oklahoma Baptist. Defensively, however, the Muleriders rank near the bottom of the league, allowing 79.4 points per contest.

A balanced offensive attack has fueled SAU's scoring success, with six players averaging at least nine points per game. Greg Moore Jr. leads the way, scoring 14.5 points per night while shooting nearly 40 percent from both the field and three-point range. He also averages 1.5 steals per game, the 12th-most in the conference.

Arkansas-Monticello enters the week at 7-7 overall and 3-5 in GAC play after earning wins over ECU and Southeastern last week. UAM scores just 66.9 points per game, the lowest mark in the conference, but makes up for it on the defensive end by allowing only 65.4 points per contest, the fourth-best figure in the GAC.

Four Weevils average at least 13 points per game, led by Ashton Price at 14.0 points per contest. Josh Smith and Isaac Jackson each average 13.9 points per game, while Jakob Zenon adds 13.4 points per outing.

Matchups between SWOSU and these two opponents have been as tight as they come. Against Southern Arkansas, the Bulldogs hold a narrow 15-14 series advantage since 2012 and are 5-5 over the last 10 meetings. The series with Arkansas-Monticello is deadlocked at 14 wins apiece, with the teams also splitting the last 10 matchups at 5-5.

SWOSU averages 68.5 points per game while allowing 68.9 points per contest, ranking 10th in the GAC in scoring offense and fifth in scoring defense. The Bulldogs knock down the second-most three-pointers in the conference at eight per game, trailing only Southeastern.

Kayden Carter has been a consistent scoring option for SWOSU, averaging 12.1 points per game while adding 4.4 rebounds and nearly one block per contest. Ty Frierson contributes 11.9 points per night and 3.2 assists per game, ranking fifth in the GAC in assist-to-turnover ratio.
