RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Baseball senior designated hitter Bodi Wallar earned the Great American Conference's first Player of the Week honor for the 2025 season after his performance against Colorado School of Mines over the weekend.
Wallar finished 6-for-11 (.545) at the plate and reached base safely in 11 of his 16 (.688) plate appearances. His weekend was highlighted by a six-RBI game two performance that saw him hit two home runs and add a double. He drove in his seventh run of the series on Sunday in game four. He finishes opening weekend with the highest slugging percentage around the conference and tied for the second highest batting average.
It's Wallar's first GAC weekly honor in his first year as a Bulldog. SWOSU had just one hitter of the week in 2024 and they match that total with one already through the first week of the new season.
He and the Bulldogs welcome in another RMAC foe this weekend when Adams State comes to Weatherford for a four-game non-conference series that will span Friday-Sunday.
