SWOSU Men's Basketball faces one of its toughest weeks of the season as they host No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday in their final home game of the calendar year before traveling to Bethany to take on No. 5 Southern Nazarene on Saturday.
Oklahoma Baptist has opened the season in impressive fashion, starting 7-0 and climbing as high as No. 15 in the national rankings before falling by two points to Southern Arkansas in their most recent outing. All-time, the Bison lead the Bulldogs 18-5 and have won the last six matchups. SWOSU has gone 2-9 against OBU both in Weatherford and in Shawnee.
The Bison boast four double-digit scorers, led by Terry Coner Jr. with 19.1 points per game. Joshua Udoumoh adds 16.1 points, Jackson Green contributes 11.5, and big man Erik Madrid scores 10.6 per contest. Udoumoh and Madrid each collect at least 5.6 rebounds per game, while Coner Jr. hands out 3.3 assists. Five different Bison average at least one assist per outing.
As a team, OBU ranks fourth in the GAC in scoring at 81.6 points per game and holds the third-best scoring margin at +11.4. They shoot 48.9 percent from the field, the second-highest mark in the conference, while limiting opponents to just 40.3 percent. They excel on the offensive glass as well, averaging 14.5 offensive rebounds per game, which contributes to the third-best rebounding margin in the GAC at + 6.6.
Southern Nazarene has gotten off to a blazing start at 8-0 after sweeping their GAC opening weekend, and they have surged into the top five of the NABC Coaches Poll heading into this week's matchups. All time the Crimson Storm hold a 22-8 lead over the Bulldogs dating back to 1997. SNU has captured three straight wins in the series and hold a 12-3 record when playing in Bethany.
SNU also features four players scoring in double figures. Baron Bracey leads the way with 16 points per game, while Tracy Godfrey Jr. averages 11.3, Bam Johnson adds 11.0, and Malik Edwards contributes 10.6. Bracey also pulls down 9.5 rebounds per game, the most in the GAC.
The Crimson Storm score 76.3 points per game, the fifth-best mark in the conference, while allowing just 67.1 points on the defensive end. They shoot 45.2 percent from the field, which ranks ninth in the league. From three point range they shoot 26.2 percent, placing them 11th in the GAC, and they make only 4.9 threes per game, the lowest total in the conference.
Kayden Carter leads the Bulldogs with 12.3 points per game. He has scored in double figures in all but one game, finishing with nine in the lone exception.
Ty Frierson follows with 11.1 points per outing, with his season high of 24 coming in the opener.
Kray Rogers averages 9.1 points and has made a team-high 14 threes while shooting 31.8 percent from deep. He also leads SWOSU with 6.6 rebounds per game. Frierson, Rogers,

SWOSU scores 69.6 points per game, the lowest total in the GAC, while allowing 67.5 points to opponents. The Bulldogs shoot 43 percent from the field, which ranks 11th in the conference, and sit ninth in three point percentage at 28.4 percent.
