RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Volleyball's Jada Permenter and Cameron Turner have been named Great American Conference Players of the Week for week five, the league announced Monday.

It marks the first time this season that a Bulldog has earned a weekly conference honor, and the first-time multiple players from the same team have been recognized in the same week. Permenter collects the fourth GAC Defensive Player of the Week award of her career, while Turner secures the first setter honor of her collegiate career. Turner is also the first Bulldog to earn Setter of the Week since Allie Hoang in 2021.

Turner and Permenter powered SWOSU to a perfect 2-0 week, with both wins coming in straight sets. Turner dished out 68 assists across the two matches, including 41 against Southeastern—a three-set high in the GAC this season and tied for 22nd nationally. Permenter anchored the defense with 38 digs, setting new season-highs along the way with 18 against Southeastern and 20 against Northwestern. Her effort helped limit Southeastern to just a .070 hitting percentage (fourth-lowest this year) and Northwestern to -.009 (second-lowest). She was also a perfect 22-for-22 in serve receive on the week, with no errors to her credit. 

The Bulldogs return home tonight to host Southern Nazarene at 6 p.m. before hitting the road later this week for GAC showdowns at Ouachita Baptist on Thursday (Oct. 9) and Henderson State on Friday (Oct. 10).
