WICHITA FALLS, Texas – SWOSU Volleyball suffered a loss via sweep in their final non-conference game of the 2025 campaign at the hands of Midwestern State.
The offense couldn't find its rhythm in Texas, hitting just .079—the second-lowest mark this season (.073 vs. Oklahoma Baptist). The Dawgs committed 22 attack errors, their most in a three-set match this year, and also finished with twice as many service errors as aces (6–3).
SWOSU held the lead for only three points in the opening set, with the Mustangs keeping pace and pulling away for a 25-19 win. The Bulldogs looked to have life in the early stages of the second, building a four-point lead at 10-6, but Midwestern State quickly erased the deficit and tied the set at 12. The Mustangs kept the momentum from there to take it 25-17. In the third, MSU closed it out by hitting a match-high .200 and collecting five service aces to secure the sweep.
Sydnee Winfrey led the Dawgs with nine kills, while she and
Katja Blanchat were strong at the net, each posting a team-high five blocks.
As a team the Bulldogs racked up 10 blocks, tying for the eighth-most in a three-set match in SWOSU history.
SWOSU will return home to the Pioneer Event Center to host two Arkansas teams this week—Arkansas Tech on Thursday at 6 pm, followed by Harding on Friday at 4 pm.
