SWOSU Rodeo saw five former team members compete professionally this month at the final season ending events for the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA).
Brodie Poppino won a round at the National Final Steer Wrestling (NFSR) held in Mulvane, Kansas on November 1-2 and finished 12th in the world standings.
Kelsi Domer took home the average win and a World Championship title at the National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR) held in Las Vegas on December 3-4. She totaled 22.0 seconds in nine runs with six, sixth-place or better finishes highlighted by a win in round three with a time of 1.9 seconds.
Three others – Emily Beisel, Hunter Herrin, and Trey Kimzey – just concluded the 2024 National Finals Rodeo (NFR) that spanned 10 days in Las Vegas, Nevada from December 5-14.
Beisel, in Barrel Racing, finished in the money in four rounds which included a win in the 10th and final round. She was top-3 or better in three rounds and added a sixth place finish. Beisel ended sixth in the average and was fifth in the world standings entering the event.
Herrin, in Tie-Down Roping, started strong with back-to-back placings of third (8.0 seconds) and fifth (8.5) and concluded his event with a fourth place, 7.7 second run for his fastest time of the rodeo. He finished 15th in the NFR average and 13th in the world standings.
Kimzey, in Bull Riding, won the first round with an 87.5-point ride on Cookies & Cream and was in the money in two more in rounds four and seven when he finished third (82.5 pts) and fourth (70.5) respectively. He finished seventh in the NFR average and 11th in the world standings.

It showcases the talents of the PRCA's top 15 money winners in the steer roping world standings at the end of the regular season as they compete for the world championship.
The National Finals Breakaway Roping, held in conjunction with the NFR since 2020, has been held to determine the WPRA's world champion breakaway roper.
The Wrangler NFR is the season-ending championship event for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and is widely acknowledged to be the world's premier rodeo. Held annually since 1959, the Wrangler NFR is ProRodeo's richest and most prestigious rodeo, and it showcases the very best cowboys, barrel racers and livestock in the world.
