WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Bulldog Baseball comes back home this weekend as they plan to host a three-game Great American Conference series at SWOSU Athletic Complex against East Central. The teams will take the field on Friday to play a single game starting at 2:00 pm and finish out the series on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 pm.
 
The Dawgs are looking to bounce back after dropping their second road series in a row last weekend to Southeastern. In front of SWOSU this weekend is an ECU squad who currently ranks last in the GAC standings with an 0-9 record in conference play, has a 5-15 overall record, and a four-game losing streak. Just above ECU sits SWOSU who is tied for 10th in the league with a 3-6 mark in conference action. 
 
SWOSU's offense is looking to keep the bats rolling at home. Conference standout Caleb Clines still reigns atop the GAC's on-base-percentage rankings at .581 and remains as disciplined as ever at the plate by leading the league in walks with 20. Newly crowned Bulldogs of The Week Emilio Trevino and Geoff Marlow are trying to relive their success they had in Durant last week as they both had multiple home runs to help SWOSU squeeze out a comeback win.
 
Jackson Phillips seems to match up well against ECU as they rank last in the conference in batting average (.253) and Phillips currently ranks fourth in the GAC in opponent batting average against at .189. SWOSU hopes to get better starts out of its pitchers this weekend after two of the three arms who started against Southeastern a week ago only lasted 2.0 inning each. Phillips threw 4.1 inning and struck out seven in a no decision against the Savage Storm. 
 
When the Bulldogs and the Tigers met up last season in Ada, SWOSU won the series 2-1 by scores of 11-4, 5-3 and 6-7.
