WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Bulldog Baseball comes back home this weekend as they plan to host a three-game Great American Conference series at the SWOSU Athletic Complex against Ouachita Baptist. The teams will take the field on Friday to play a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 pm and will finish out the series on Saturday with a single game also starting at 12:00 pm.
 
The Dawgs are seeking their first conference win of the season after getting swept by Henderson last weekend. They stand with a 0-3 record in league play and a 3-7 overall record. The Ouachita Tigers come into the weekend 6-3 overall on the year and 2-1 in GAC play after winning their home series against Northwestern last weekend.
 
SWOSU is relying heavily on the batting of Caleb Clines, who is leading the GAC four offensive categories: batting average (.625), slugging percentage (1.000), on base percentage (.757), and on base + slugging (1.757). The backstop for the Bulldogs, Geoff Marlow, is providing all the muscle in the lineup as he ranks fifth in the conference in both doubles (5) and RBI (14).
 
SWOSU's pitching staff has a 4.60 ERA at home while opponents are hitting .295 against the Bulldogs. Jackson Phillips has started three games this season with a 1-1 record and 2.57 ERA, striking out 23 batters in 14 innings pitched. He is looking to repeat his last home performance in which he got the win against Adams State while striking out nine batters. Former Bulldog of the Week Grant Ewy, is looking to maintain his consistent command as he ranks second among the Dawgs starting pitchers in WHIP with 1.50
 
When the Bulldogs and the Tigers met up last season in Arkadelphia, SWOSU lost the series 2-1 by scores of 4-14, 8-6 and 7-15.
