RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Football had two senior defensive players, RJ Powell and Richard Silva, earn All-Great American Conference distinctions, announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.

Powell (Sayre, Okla.) was fourth in the conference this season with 15.5 tackles for loss and eighth in both total tackles, 78, and sacks, 7.0. His best game came against Arkansas Tech when he finished with a career high 11 tackles and 2.5 sacks which included a sack fumble. Powell is the first SWOSU defensive lineman since 2014 to earn all-conference recognition.
Silva (Keller, Texas) was second in the league with 16.5 tackles for loss and fifth with 87 total tackles. He finished with multiple TFLs in seven of 11 games this season and posted his career high 12 tackles against both Ouachita and East Central. Silva is the first SWOSU linebacker since 2017 to land on the all-conference list.
