WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Brody McAbee (rodeo) and Ashley Hughes (soccer) have been named the newest Bulldogs of the Week. The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the official partner of SWOSU Athletics for both livestream and radio.

McAbee (Ansley, Neb.) won the Saddle Bronc event last weekend at the Colby Rodeo held up in Colby, Kansas. He was consistent in both rounds with a 78-point long round ride and an 81-point short round to win the average. McAbee edged teammate Tim Troyer in the short round who was tied with him entering Sunday. McAbee’s win helped lead SWOSU to a men’s team title in the first rodeo of the 2022-23 season. 

Hughes (Sydney, Australia) posted her first clean sheet of the season against Northwestern last Friday. The sophomore had eight saves in the match – the second highest save total she’s had this season. SWOSU went on to beat the Rangers 2-0 in the opening match of conference play.
