WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Sola Tsuruta (soccer) and Lacy Mott (volleyball) are the newest Bulldogs of the Week. The award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the official partner of SWOSU Athletics for both livestream and radio.
Tsuruta (Nelson, New Zealand) had her best week as a Bulldog this past week. She had an assist in the Dawgs 1-0 GAC semifinal win over NWOSU on Thursday. She bested it on Saturday by scoring a 9’ goal via a penalty kick to win the GAC Tournament Championship. Tsuruta won the GAC Tournament MVP for her performance in the tournament.
Mott (Waxahachie, Texas) helped SWOSU volleyball go 2-0 in two games last week. Over this two-game stretch, she was first on the team with 29 kills, second on the team with 30 digs, and had a team high .426 hitting percentage. These wins helped the Bulldogs lock up the third seed in the upcoming GAC Volleyball Tournament.
