RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU soccer forward Tianna Watkins has been named as the GAC defender of the week in women's soccer.
The Dawgs had two home GAC contests last week, versus Harding and Ouachita Baptist. Watkins played all 90 minutes of both games and led the Dawgs on the back end of their defense.
Both of these games would be shutouts for SWOSU. This extends the streak of conference clean sheets to four in a row to start out GAC play. Watkins has not come off of the field for a second of these games. In the Ouachita Baptist game, she recorded her first shot and shot on goal of the year.
With one win and one tie this week, SWOSU stays undefeated in the GAC at 2-0-2.
The Dawgs look to continue playing tough defense with a home match against conference leader Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday afternoon.
