Boydston’s First-Place Finish Earns GAC Golfer of the Week Status

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU's Conner Boydston has been named the Great American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week following his stellar individual win at the Tulsa Cup.

This is the first weekly recognition Boydston has received from the conference in his career, and he also becomes the first Bulldog to win the honor in the 2022-23 season.

The senior from Randlett, Oklahoma carded consistent scores of 69 (-3) in both the first and second round to beat the field by four strokes and finish six-under par for the event. In line with consistent play, he posted five birdies in each round highlighted by three-straight birdies on holes 10-12 in the opening round and by birdying three of the last four holes in the final round to help will the Bulldogs into the playoff.

In doing so, he became the first SWOSU men's golfer to win the individual title at a tournament since Kason Cook did so back in 2019.

His performance nearly helped give the Bulldogs the team title as well, but they were edged out by Northeastern State in a deciding playoff hole and finished as tournament runner-up.

The Tulsa Cup concludes the fall portion of SWOSU's schedule. Play will resume February 20 at the Rattler Invitational in San Antonio.
