WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Bulldog Football travels back to the natural state for their fifth game of the year where they will take on Arkansas-Monticello Saturday at 2:00 pm.

With their impressive offensive display over the weekend against Oklahoma Baptist, SWOSU became the number one passing offense in the Great American Conference and number sixteen in the nation.

Taking over the number one spot came about thanks to some stellar play from Jalil Kilpatrick as well as some great play from the SWOSU secondary. The Bison passing attack came into the game as the number one in the GAC and the number two in the nation in both passing yards and passing touchdowns. SWOSU's defense held them to just 167 yards through the air.

Kilpatrick certainly did his part to keep the Bulldog offense humming. He finished the night 14-27 for 229 yards and three touchdowns passing while also having an impact with his legs. He ran for 46 yards, including a 25-yard run for a touchdown late in the third quarter.

While it has been tough sledding for the Dawgs thus far, this game represents the beginning a much more favorable part of the schedule. Four of the next seven games come against opponents that SWOSU holds a winning record against all-time. Arkansas-Monticello is the first team the Bulldogs have played this year that SWOSU holds a historical advantage against.

The history between the two teams starts with the formation of the GAC in 2011. The Boll Weevils took the first meeting, 35-21 in a game played in Monticello. The all-time record between the two teams sits 5-4 in favor of the Bulldogs. SWOSU is 4-0 in games in Weatherford, and only 1-4 in Monticello. The Bulldogs have won two of the last three games in the series.

Arkansas-Monticello comes into the game off a 27-20 victory against Arkansas Tech last week. The offense is governed by quarterback Demilon Brown who is averaging 235 yards per game through the air, but is just as dangerous on the ground. He ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns last game and he leads the team in rushing on the season.

Kick-off will be at 2:00 PM. Follow along @SWOSUFootball for all the updates.
