WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Postseason play begins on Saturday afternoon for the SWOSU Soccer team as the Bulldogs host Southern Nazarene in the quarterfinal round of the Great American Conference Tournament. Kickoff at the SWOSU Athletic Complex is set for 1:00 pm.

SWOSU earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament with a conference record of 3-2-1 while Southern Nazarene is the No. 6 seed and entering the postseason with a 1-4-1 record. The two teams met one time this season, with the Bulldogs claiming a 4-0 victory in Bethany in a game that saw four different SWOSU players – Juliana Rocha, Brooke Scott, Claire Torry and Brenna McGuirk – score a goal with one common denominator as Brianna Benitez assisted on each goal on her way to GAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

This is the ninth time in 10 seasons that SWOSU has competed in the GAC Tournament and the Bulldogs are the defending tournament champions after defeating Harding and Oklahoma Baptist to win the 2019 GAC Championship in Weatherford. This year's edition of the tournament is the first to include all seven teams in the conference and Saturday's quarterfinal winner will advance to face the winner of Ouachita and Northwestern Oklahoma State next Thursday in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Under the direction of head coach Mark Persson, SWOSU is 10-3-2 all-time in the GAC Tournament with championships in 2012, 2013, 2017 and 2019. The Bulldogs have faced Southern Nazarene just once in the event, a 3-3 tie in the 2016 semifinals which ended in dramatic fashion as SWOSU advanced to the championship game with a 4-2 advantage in penalty kicks.

Attendance is permitted at the SWOSU Athletic Complex for Saturday's game, but fans unable to attend can watch live video or follow live stats through SWOSUAthletics.com.
