NORMAN, Okla. – Heston Brown, Kason Cook and Gregor Weck of the SWOSU Men's Golf team are among the record-setting group of 614 collegiate golfers from Division I, II, II, NAIA and NJCAA who have been announced as Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars. The teams were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday.
   
Of the 614 honorees, 376 players were Division I selections, 99 in Division II, 108 in Division III, 18 from NAIA, and 12 from NJCAA. 2020 marks the first year in which sophomores are eligible for the award.
 
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40% of the team's competitive rounds.
 
"I am extremely proud of what each Heston, Kason and Gregor have accomplished this season, both in the classroom and on the golf course," SWOSU Head Golf Coach Brad Fleetwood said. "All three of them are great examples of what it means to be a student-athlete and fantastic representatives for our university."
 
Cook, a senior from Hydro, earns the award for the second consecutive season, joining previous recipients Marques Gomez (2016-17), Stefan Idstam (2016-17) and Wouter MyBurgh (2012-13) as two-time award winners. Brown, a junior from Cordell, and Weck, a junior from Wiesbaden, Germany, both reached All-America Scholar status for the first time in their collegiate career.
