RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following his first start in a SWOSU uniform, junior pitcher
Eric Estrada has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week. The award was announced on Monday by the conference office.
A native of El Paso, Texas, Estrada tossed 5.0 shutout innings in the Bulldogs 13-0 victory over Missouri Southern on Sunday and picked up his first win as a Bulldog. He faced 20 batters and recorded seven strikeouts while allowing three hits and two walks before giving way to two relievers to conclude the shut out. Estrada becomes the first SWOSU Baseball player to be named GAC Pitcher of the Week since

After going 2-1 on opening weekend, SWOSU Baseball returns to action next Wednesday (Feb. 12) with a non-conference matchup in Tahlequah against Northeastern State.
