WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Bulldog Baseball makes their regularly-scheduled home opener this weekend as they host Southeastern Oklahoma State for a three-game Great American Conference series at the SWOSU Athletic Complex. Due to weather concerns, the series has been flipped so that the doubleheader will be played on Friday and the series will conclude on Saturday with one game, beginning at noon.
SWOSU is one of three teams in the conference to win their opening league series 2-1 after taking two runaway wins at East Central last weekend while also dropping a 2-1 contest in the seven-inning game. The Bulldogs are now 5-2 on the year and they've scored 10 or more runs in four of their victories. SWOSU currently leads the conference in hitting with a team batting average of .365 and pitching with a team ERA of 2.41 through 56.0 innings of work.
Southeastern Oklahoma State enters the weekend with a record of 7-7, but they are searching for their first conference victory after going 0-3 against Oklahoma Baptist last weekend in Durant. The Savage Storm have played all 14 games to date in Durant and will be making their first road trip of the season as they come to Weatherford. Southeastern currently ranks sixth in the GAC with a team batting average of .256 and 10th in pitching with a team ERA of 7.18.
All three games of the series will be broadcast and live stats are available through SWOSUAthletics.com.
